The Journey
(to Mary)

Green are the waves
of the wide and empty sea.
Upon the fog enshrouded stony cliffs
you must wander.
Gazing down
the stars have danced around
the streams and meadows of Erinna,
the home of your heart.
Bound of spirit to the land,
you are come to the mysteries
of the Farie realms,
Deep within the cold Earth,
their halls bright with crystal lamp
and golden harp,
to welcome you;
The Muse once again at hearthside resting.
Grey the dawn and barren the days;
the music is stilled.
The bare branches are dripping with the frost
that here lies,
Until your returning.
